D + 20: …30,000 pounds of mashed bananas…

Karen had her second IPOP visit today. It lasted 4 hours. We are still seeking the secret formula to make shakes that don’t shake the stomach. Otherwise, Karen is working on getting used to medications in pill form – a larger challenge than we first anticipated.

Counts: ANC 1170
White count 1850
Platelets 43

The little apartment is nice. A day, an hour, a minute, a second at a time; forwards.

  1. I make smoothies using ice cubes, milk, water, any fruit-especially bananas(and combination of many fruits), and frozen OJ (or any frozen juice of choice). If you want a more exact recipe then let me know.
Glad you like the apartment. And it is great seeing the counts continuing the upward climb.
    Love,
    Cathy 🙂

  2. Baby steps forward are beginning to turn into strides. Thank you, dear God. Good luck on finding the proper procedures for meds and keep the counts climbing. Love you both, Linda

  3. Hi Karen
You’re in my thoughts and prayers.
    You are amazing.

  4. We are so glad to hear that things are moving in a positive direction. We will continue to have faith and continue to pray. Stay strong for each other. And please call on us if we can help with any thing. May the New Year bring you only good and wonderful things and continued progress. Love to you both

  5. Carl has a cousin fighting brain cancer, and one of the things she has a lot are “green smoothies”. I don’t know if it will help Karen, but here’s the link: http://taraschlappi.blogspot.com/2010/06/smoothie-recipe.html

    Hope things keep improving.
