Day +145: When you’re chewing on life’s gristle…

“Don’t grumble, give a whistle…”

Happy Easter everyone. It’s a lovely hot sunshiny spring day here today, a contrast to yesterday’s chilly rain. We’re headed across the hill to have dinner with Michael’s family shortly.

Tomorrow, I start my third post-transplant Vidaza cycle. I’m kind of dreading it. Last month seemed a bit harder on me than in the past with more aches and pains and more fatigue throughout the month. I’ll also get my CBC and liver function tests. On the last liver retest, my bilirubin, AST, and ALT were all slightly more elevated but not enough for the transplant team to be concerned. They said if bilirubin goes above 3.0 with additional increases in the enzymes, they’ll consider GvHD. Otherwise, they attribute the increase to Vidaza or the other drugs I’m taking now, and something to monitor every two weeks. I’ll post an update midweek when I get the lastest results.

Day 127: Eat It, Weird Al (no one IDed)
Day 134: Lean on Me, Bill Withers (IDed by Linda, Leslie, Dana, and Joseph)

  1. Karen,

I want you to know that even though I haven’t commented in awhile I still read your posts and keep you in my prayers!

    Happy Easter!

  2. Ditto for my daughter. You are remembered nightly with Harold and me. Just had Easter brunch and am making dinner. Hope your Easter celebration with family is as blessed as ours. Hope you got your invitation! Love you, me

  3. We made it to church today. Came home in the pouring rain. Enjoyed left-over mac and cheese. Definitely not your typical Easter day. Sad. I need the grandkids. 🙁

    Enjoy your day.
    Happy Easter!!!

  4. Good luck on the tests…hope you spent enough time studying to PASS them all with flying colors!!
    Hope your Easter was hoppy!
    Love you,
