Day -2: My day of rest – “All Quiet on the 5B Front”

One of the nurses posted a hand drawn activity calendar on my wall. I’m quite happy to see that today and tomorrow are designated rest days. Food and I are barely speaking, and the bed is calling to me for naps.

I managed to do some laps and played a couple of games of Carcassonne. I’m doing fine, just a little tired.

  1. Just remember-“This too shall pass.”
Looking forward to when this has pass.
Enjoy the naps while you can. I love them. 😀

  2. Wish I were with you to play Carcossonne. I am in spirit. Love you. L.

  3. I just wanted to stop in and leave greetings from the Kirchner Household 🙂 We are all thinking about you and praying for you! Sorry food is not agreeing with you at this time, but I am sure it will improve. Enjoy your games and rest easy, we will all be praying for you! Enjoy the chair, it looks pretty snazzy! Lots of love, David, Sherry, Becky, Angie, Patty <3

  4. Karen,

It’s morning on 11/29, and you are much in my thoughts as I sit with my coffee and wait for the rest of the house to wake up.

I recall that the plan was for your cells to arrive sometime in the dead of night tonight or the wee hours of tomorrow morning.

It’s more than a bit of a miracle, isn’t it?

So an early happy birthday to you. I hope your day is restful and your new cells have as much spunk, wit, and grace as their recipient.

  5. Oooooooohhhhhh, Carcassonne. That sounds like fun. Except that you are playing in the hospital. Hope everything continues to go well.
