Day +401: I’m holding out for a hero…

“Where’s the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I I toss and turn and dream of what I need
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ’til the end of the night”

I just received wonderful news from Johns Hopkins – contact information for my donor! I’m emailing my hero now to thank her a million times for saving my life.

Happy New Year, everyone!

  8. Those of you who guessed Holding Out for a Hero for the tag line are correct, and Bonnie Tyler did sing it; however, when we selected the song, we were thinking of the Shrek verion sung by Frou Frou :-).

  9. Good news!!!

  10. Glad you’re doing so well, and are going to meet your donor. I also go to UC Hemotology for Vidaza. Dr. Phil is my doctor. Will have a BMT in the Spring. I have CMML. How did you physically feel with all the chemo at Hopkins before the transplant? I’m getting nervous, but it’s the only hope for a cure for me.
